Rare Verdelle Gray mouse sculpture. The approximate size is 3.30 inches in height and 3.5 inches in width. The color is a beautiful shade of blue glaze. It is signed on the bottom with an incised Verdelle.
From my research, I have learned that Ms. Gray is a well-known clay sculpture artist who is listed in \"Lehner\'s Book of Marks\" and also \"Who Was Who in American Art.\" I believe she lives in the mountains of North Carolina.
This mouse is so cute. He is sturdy and round. I love the way his tail covers his eyes.
It does not appear to have any cracks, crazing, chips, or defects of any kind. It feels rather solid and hefty in my hand, weighing approximately 8 ounces by itself prior to packing. It is now ready to move to a new home !!
