Rare Antique Sterling Silver and Gilt [Gold washed interior] Table Snuff Box With Exquisite Hunting Scene by Georgian Silversmith,William Simpson ,Birmingham 1829.
Thisstylish and rare table snuff boxis a genuine antique & 183 years old but still in good condition and would shine in any snuff box/silver collection.
This beautiful snuff box has a superb raised [ 3 dimensional] hunting scene on its lid with attention to the smallest details.
A truly high quality snuff box with a large size that was made from outstanding gauge of sterling silver [184 grams].
Fully sterling silver hallmarked [on both lid and base] for:
Birmingham 1829
Maker: WS.William Simpson who was registered in Birmingham between 1808 & 1840 and is famous in making silver vinaigrette and snuff Box.

Antique & rare Georgian sterling silver and gilt [Gold washed interior] snuff boxwith stunning cast [ raised] foliate scroll borders which are making a superb frame for a raised [ 3 dimensional] hunting scene.
Exquisite Hunting scene depicting 2 dogs chasing a hair and a shepherd leaning on a stile.There are also a cottage and surrounding trees.
This superb raised [3 dimensional] hunting scene decoration in combination with the reeded sides and foliate borders presenting an eye catching and stylish masterpiece.
The hunting scene and foliate borders are unbelievably detailed with attention to the smallest details as you can see in pictures.
The base has engine turned decoration.
It is very large and wasmade from outstanding gaugeof sterling silver [184 grams].
This rare snuff box is in overall good condition after183 years with very few tiny dents that only can be seen in close inspection.
A truly superb quality and rare snuff box in a good condition for any silver collector which has been offered with what so ever.
Hinge is in good working order and box close nicely and tightly.
Hunting and raised foliate decoration are also in nice condition with minimal signs of aging.
Engine turned decoration to the base shows some signs of aging as you can see in pictures
Gilt [Gold washed interior] shows minimal signs of aging.
