RARE BRITISH 1867 ABYSSINIAN EXPEDITION NAMED FAMILY MAP CASE :

A unique piece of British military history. This is a tin map case carried by an officer on the 1867 Abyssinian (Ethiopian Expedition). Tin is maked \"EF\" (Expeditionary Force) and the date 1867. Inside the map case is a letter from a descendant of the original owner - Mark Lennox-Boyd. Cursory research on the internet shows that a Lennox-Boyd was part of this military expedition - the piece is worthy of further research - could be very fascinating indeed. In excellent condition for its age with only light wear and a few bumps. Height of the map Case is 12 inches and the width is 6 inches.
