RARE BLUE CRAGSTAN RADICAL ROBOT TIN BATTERY OPERATED YOSHIYA JAPAN WITH ORIGINAL BOX
WILLSHIP INTERNATIONALLY!!!
This sale is for a LARGE 12 ¼” boxed 1950’s rare blue tin battery operated Cragstan Radical Robot made by Yoshiya (KO), Japan. This tin robot has great lithographing with plenty of chrome, sound, blinking lights, and movement! When activated this robot works perfectly and was rug tested on 4-9-2012. He has bump and go (mystery) action, spinning antennas, blinking dome light, head movement from side to side, and makes a clicking space like sound when traveling. This space toy has great action for such an early vintage battery operated toy. The condition of this toy is about as good as it gets from wheels, chrome, lithograph, and overall condition. This toy appears to be in store stock condition with very few flaws; the arms have not rubbed the body, the wheels appear to be rarely used, battery compartment is clean, all parts original and operational, and really an amazing display centerpiece. There is a paint rub where the battery lock has rubbed, and very small pencil tip ping (factory most likely) under the third outward rivet on the right front leg panel, small litho rubs on the bottom rear and center left of the battery door, back of head has a few slight rubs (most likely from the box), and bottom is as near perfect as they come!
This robot was made in three variations; blue is the Radical Robot, white is the Mystery Moon Man, silver is Chief Robot Man. Of the three this blue version is the rarest and it is extremely rare with the original box!
Did someone say Original Box!!! The box for this space robot is very difficult to acquire! The front reads “CRAGSTAN RADICAL ROBOT, HEAD TURNS, ANTENNA SPINS, MYSTERY ACTION, BATTERY POWERED, LIGHTS-ACTION NOISE, NEW TOY ACTION KO, NGS. The box shows the robot in action with light blinking, arms moving, and antenna spinning! There is wear on the top front of the box, creasing on the front and four sides (but on a shelf it simply looks GREAT). There is a small section missing from the bottom left corner, and yellow spots from age on the four sides. Cardboard bottom is overall very good, natural pushing in of the cardboard in a few areas, 1 insert, very solid!
This space robot is a great addition to any collection, a must have.
