This is an Original 18th centuryColonial American"LAND DEED", from Connecticut dated "1773". Singlesheet, one-sided (back side has some annotations/endorsements ). Size: approx. 7" by 12". Handwritten in brown ink on Fine, laid paper.Neatly Folded. Good Condition overall, w/Major "fold-separation" along some of the old fold-lines, causing document to be rather Fragile and splitting apart at some of the folds; otherwise, o.k. ....ThisEarly American documentis dated "the 18th day of January in the 13th Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE The Third of Great-Britain, &c. KING: Annoque Domini, 1773". (***PLEASE NOTE: This Deed is fromBEFORE Connecticut became a state, and is from the "Colony of Connecticut", during the reign of King George III). Itis a completed "Land Transfer Deed", involving the sale of eight acres of land in Woodbury, Connecticut for the sum of Forty Two Pounds. The names of the parties involved is unclear, but seem to be JAMES LAFLEY and ALEXANDER HANNA. Multiple signatures at bottom of page. There is also a small Red Wax Seal in the right-hand, lower corner of the document (these old wax seals are rarely ever present, due to their fragility!). AReallyGREATEarly American document, from the AmericanRevolution Period,today239 years old! Buyer pays $4.00S&H, extra for postage outside the U.S. ***Please see scans. These old American Revolution Land Deeds are becoming quite Rare, and are VERY Collectible! This particular Deed, while quite FRAGILE and coming apart, is still Very Rare; archival tape, applied to the blank back of the document would work wonders!
