Obverse: Draped bust of Queen Victoria wearing veil and small crown, facing left.Legend:VICTORIA REGINA ET IMPERATRIX.
Reverse:The Queen, enthroned, surounded by seven figures symbolising the arts and industries of Britain (5 standing figures) and Mercury , the god of commerce, and the genuiud of electricity and steam. Above are two cherubs holding entwined wreaths and shields bearing the dates MDCCCLXXXVII and MDCCCXXXVII. Above are the words IN COMMEMORATION. In the exergue are five shields inscribed with the names of
