Photographs of 205 Thoroughbread Sires by LS Sutcliff. It contains 204 of 205 original vintage 3.5" x 5.5" photos of well known thoroughbread sires including Man O'War and a number of other Kentucky Derby winners. The name stamped on the cover is Walter White, the son of the founder of White Sewing Machine Company. He was also instramental in a side-line of the company that produced White Steamer automobiles, trucks amd buses. He loved to race and was the driver of the only non-gasoline powered racer in the 1905 Vanderbilt Cup Races. He competed in the American Elimination Trials and was later inducted into the Automobile Hall of Fame. He later became a member of the Kentucky Jockey Club which would explain how he met Sutcliff and acquired this book.It is missing 1 photo of the horse Single Foot. Photos are great shape even though cover is a little rough. L S Sutcliff is one of the greatest horse photographers of all time and these photos demonstrate that. There are 2 photos on each page and they arent glued down. They are mounted with corners. limits photos so I could only photogragh some. However others are in comparable condition.
