How It Works

The PetSafe PIF-300 Wireless Fence System comes with a transmitter that simply plugs into a standard power outlet. When turned on, the remote transmitter sends a wireless signal in the shape of a perfect circle around your yard. The area inside the circle is the \"safe zone.\" The area outside the circle is the \"forofferden zone.\" This circular containment area can be easily adjusted to cover an area of 30 to 180 feet in diameter (15 to 90 foot radius). When your dog is wearing the lightweight receiver dog collar (included), the receiver detects the signal transmitted by the system. When your dog approaches the boundary of the \"forofferden zone\" the receiver collar beeps a warning tone to your dog. If your dog continues towards the defined boundary, the receiver collar will transmit a safe, yet effective static correction. Upon initial set up and training, through the visual aid of the boundary training flags (included), the sound of the warning tone and the safe, yet annoying static corrections, your dog will quickly learn to limit his free play to the boundaries of your yard This PetSafe Wireless Containment System is completely portable. Just add a DC to AC power adaptor and you can plug the system into the cigarette lighter of your vehicle or RV. You can contain an unlimited number of pets. All you have to do is purchase additional PetSafe PIF-275-19 receiver dog collars. Because the system is designed to effectively transmit the remote signal through walls and other barriers, you can conveniently place the transmitter in a discreet location inside your home that does not reach freezing temperatures. You can increase the range of the \"safe zone\" by using two or more transmitters. For example, if you were to use two PetSafe PIF-100 transmitters, you could form a boundary in the shape of two intersecting circles (much like a MasterCard logo). By intersecting the two circles, the signal is cancelled where the circles overlap or intersect one another, essentially doubling the \"safe zone\" to which your pet has access.
