Pelikan 101NOversize Tortoise Celluloid & Red Hard Rubber End Cap. 1930s 14C F Flex Nib. Ultra Rare. Just serviced with new Cork. Works 100% as New.
This very Rare Pelikan is from the late 1930s. Made in Germany. This example is the highly sought after Tortoise colour pattern cap and body. Made of Celluloid. This one has the most desirable Red Hard Rubber End Cap. This pen is the Oversize version of the 101. See photographs 2 and 9 for size example. See how much larger it is than the standard size 101 and 100N. Very RARE! The condition of the pen is fantastic for age. It has no cracks, splits,repairs, dents, scratches or bite marks etc. Rare. The Clip and Rings are Yellow Gold plated with only the lightest of patina expected of age. Once in the hand to the naked eye this 70-80 year old looks astonishing. Very handsome pen. Also has very rare Yellow/Grey Smoke Ink window. They do not come any rarer than this.
The 14 Karat F Flex nib writes with a Fine to medium fine line at normal pressure. Smooth and user friendly.However this rare nib also has superb flex that allows for line width variation from Fine/Medium all the way to double broad on the down stroke when pressure is applied. Very creative line full of personality and spring. Highly responsive.This pen is a Piston fill. To fill could not be easier. Simply unscrew the end cap place nib in INK screw end cap down, take nib out of ink, wipe excess. DONE! Takes seconds.
