HISTORYFamille Rose is French for “Rose Family” and is the term used describe this type of porcelain. The moniker comes from the decoration, consisting primarily of soft shades of pink and carmine. Famille Rose was introduced in the late 1600s and was in its heyday in the early 1700s.
DESCRIPTIONThis is a vintage Famille Rose porcelain figurine of a laughing buddha with five children. The figurine is glazed with soft pink tones with an opalescent overcoat. Nice detailing and a pleasant theme. The figurine measures about 8” tall and is about 3.5” wide at the base. This piece has no markings that I can find. I don't know how old this piece is, but there is considerable dust and dirt in the crannies.
CONDITIONThis item is in EXCELLENT CONDITION. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs.
