"Jewel"

I'm excited to introduce my newest baby bear to you. Her name is Jewel and she is a sweet black bear cub who hopes you'll love her as much as I do!
Jewel and I had a great photo shoot! It was easy to capture her sweet baby-ness.
Jewel is 8" long and 5” high when standing on all four legs.
Jewel is a one of a kind (OOAK) artist black bear completely designed and hand sewn (no machine sewing) by me, Melisa Nichols. She is very detailed and as such she is her own unique individual and can not be duplicated ~ a true one of a kind. Many, many hours went into this baby! I am no longer doing special orders and will not be creating another one like her.
Jewel is made from black short pile faux fur that is sooooo soft!
Jewel's adorable face is full of detail. Her face has been carefully thread sculpted, scissor sculpted and shaded. Her inset muzzle is made from a beige faux fur that has a touch of needle felting just on the top of her muzzle. I used reverse felting needles to add “fur” to this area and shaded it to blend into the rest of her muzzle.
She has soulful black glass eyes with moveable eyelids. I hand sculpted and painted her realistic epoxy clay nose, then sealed it.
Jewel also has an open/close leather mouth with a thread sculpted tongue. I hand sculpted and carved her epoxy clay teeth.
Jewel's detailed leather paws are thread sculpted, sanded to give them a more realistic look, and shaded. I hand sculpted and sealed each of her little claws.
Because of all this detailed work, I will never be able to create another black bear just like Jewel. I do not work with patterns - just from photos and drawings, so there is no pattern she can be remade from.
Jewel is completely hand sewn and filled with polyfil, pellets (in her tummy), and an extra portion of cuddles. She is armatured for lots of fun poses!

Jewel will arrive in a special box with hang tags that include her birth date, a picture of her and a signed Certificate of Authenticity. She is a collectable baby black bear made for display only - not suitable for children due to small parts.

Free shipping is by surface mail which usually takes 1 1/2 to 2 weeks to US destinations and 6 - 8 weeks to overseas destinations. Please contact me for a quote if you would like to use Xpresspost instead which takes about 3-5 days to US destinations and about 6 days to overseas destinations.
