Sanyork Fair Trade is a socially and economically responsible organization committed to produce in a fair partnership with our artisans in San Juan de Lurigancho-Peru.We host sixty-three artisans who are experts in the fields of weaving, knitting, ceramics, painting, metal welding, silver smiting, stone carving and sewing. In the name of Fair Trade and social consciousness we have built our crafts center to house and board twenty two of those artisans giving their talent an opportunity against poverty and in doing so we generate a fair paying trade. We bring directly the artisans to you, without a middleman, and priced by the artist that created the work. The artists fairly receive the most of the final selling price and their work gets world wide exposure. The foothills around our workshop are plagued with cardboard huts and human beings in extreme poverty. We have created weaving and pottery jobs to assist single women with children and mentored young adults to learn a trade that can earn them a living wage.We assist the slum of Lumbreras single women's guilds to raise their children alone by providing knitting, crochet and sewing jobs.We are wholesalers and supply retailers with fairly traded products we produce.
