Build: Campagnolo MTB Off Road O.R. Group

Build Info: The frame, fork and stem are in exceptional showroom condition and show virtually no use. The original Campagnolo O.R. Group and other components had a short limited use and show very light usage marks. Buyer can re-install all of the 1991/1992 equipment and Campagnolo O.R components as provided by Mountain Goat in the fall of 1991 and maintain a true Vintage Mountain Goat Deluxe. OR Buyer can create a stunning \"As New\" Mountain Goat Deluxe by installing all of thenew Campagnolo O.R. components with a very slight sign of wear on the few parts that are not brand new and acquiring a minimum of additional items such a set of unused vintage tires.

This Mountain Goat Deluxe Frame, Fork, Stem is possibly the rarest available anywhere in terms of ORIGINAL factory \"As New\" condition and paint scheme. Mountain Goat is on the short list of vintage classic original American handmade mountain bikes.

It was the 1991 Custom Show bike displayedat the Mountain Goat booth at the 1991 fall INTERBIKE Trade Show held inAnaheim California.Campagnolo Italy provided Mountain Goat with their Campagnolo Record Off Road Group for the show build.

One original owner.The frame was designed and hand builtby legendary bicycle maker JeffLindsay at Mountain Goat Cycles (A Mountain Bike Hall of Fame inductee). The frame, rigid fork, and stemreceived a custom matched paint scheme, \"LIVE SUSHI\", by legendary painter, Russ Pickett, owner of Air Art.

At the 1991 INTERBIKE trade show, Campagnolo hadprovided the component group which was marked/stamped \"prototype\". These originalcomponentsare included with this sale. Then new NOS Campagnolo Off Road O.R. components were purchased to build the bike with non \"prototype\" individual parts, also included inthis sale. NOS Campagnolo Record Off Road O.R \"spares\" again are also included in this sale.

What makes thisparticularMountain Goat Deluxe stand out from the rest is its history and extremelylimited use. The bike was never usedoff road or on trails.

A little info on custom paint. ALL colors are fine metal flake/iridescent look, highly reflective colors. The base color is dark metallic Forest Green with the Fish, Coral, and Under Water Plants fading into the base dark metallic green which is more dominant on certain undersides of certain frame tubes and backside of rigid fork.

One important note: In the early days of first year and subsequent years Campagnolo intermixed a few oftheir components in their various levels of Off Road Groups. Identification of \"Pedals\" may or may not correspond with various years that Campagnolo presentedtheir components with these O.R. groups. There are 3 setsof pedals in this sale, I believe one set is from the Record O.R. group, based on theoriginal catalog I have from 1991/1992. The other pedals may be one of 2 otherhigh end Off Road pedal models of the same vintage years. I am open to any clarification commentary onthis identification subject. I refer personally to the factory catalogs and associated pictures of components and of course the original receipts. Some Campagnolo Off Road factory variations as to individual parts included in the various levels of their Off Road groups does exist, as the product line evolved over the limited 4 years they offered the Off Road components.

One other component is the rear cassette, which when purchased came as a \"Record O.R. group component\" and may have been borrowed by Campagnolo themselves from existing product line to complete their Off Road group component offerings. I offer this commentary to allow as much clarification and information on all items in this sale. Please review all information in the description and ask any questions on any or all of this sales offerings, before decidingto purchase. Actual purchase by buyer affirms hisacceptance of all representations made as to allitems in thissale. I want thebuyer to be confident in purchasing this rare American Classic MTB andexcited and pleased oncereceived after purchase. One concern for all vintage MTB frames are the factory decals.Air Art preserved the main decals onthis frame with multi-layer clear coat.
