Built in1962 for the Maritime Self Defense Force by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. Ratedas a MTB, this interesting torpedo boat retained much of the. classic wartimesuperstructure but was blended with a light alloy hull.. Displacing 90 tons, PT‑10is 105\' long with a 27\' beam and 31/2\' draft. It is armed with four 21\'torpedo tubes and powered by three Napier Deltic diesels of 9,300 hp. PT‑10 makes48 knots top speed and carries two 40mm guns, plus several light machine gunsfor patrol duty.
