I bought this Martin 1934 pre-war remake, D-18 GE, in 2011 and played it a few times for a total of an hour or maybe two for the first few months and put it back in its case, not with theintentionof selling it but because I did not want to damage it. I have many guitars and I need to sell some - I am liking cars more than guitars right now - I am starting off with this one. It is the only new Martin I have ever owned and fear of dinging it has kept me from enjoying it. It has no dings or scratches and there is no reason for it todisappoint its new owner. It has the fabulous sound and resonance of the classic Golden Era D-18 with the clarity of a piano. Simply a great guitar in great, as near mint condition as one would find in a pre-owned instrument. I chose this guitar for its crystal clear tone and the outstanding, even-colored Adirondack top.
All the original paperwork and documentation is included within the original case. Serial number 149xxxx. Since the strings are about three years old, one would do well to replace them with a new set of SP's. It is a fabulous guitar at a fabulous price.If you are considering a new instrument, this, in my opinion is a better alternative by far.The guitar has been kept in a climate controlled, non-smokingenvironmentsince new, plus; I live in Sequim, WA which has favorable humidity conditions for preservation of wooden musical instruments.
I would love to sell you this guitar for less but sorry to say it just can't happen.
