M1 Garand walnut stock and matching handguard set. Wood is new production American Black Walnutwith correctly installed U.S.G.I metal hardware for each handguard (rear handguard clip, front handguard ferrule, and front handguard spacer). The HGs have similar grain and tone compared to stock.

The buttstock ispatterned after theslim WWIISA profile.

The handguards are 100% U.S.G.I profile and are not oversized with extra wood like other new production offerings: front HG woodis almost flush with the bottom of the front ferrule anddoes not overhang the metal. The front piece has the rounded edge wood bottom (this is a distinctiveU.S.G.I. front HG trait). The set was tested with an install on a Garand barrel/receiver to help ensure proper fit and clearances. To seecompleteset of stock and handguards photos mounted with aU.S.G.I. Adjustments & fitting have been made to ensure atight lock-up and proper op rod, barrel & handguard clearances to improve your accuracy.

My finishing method has been adapted from professional military stock refinishers whose techniques represent years of trial and error designed to duplicate the finishes of yesteryear on WWII-era rifle stocks. The final two hand-rubbed coats applied were a finish formula consisting of 1/3 beeswax, 1/3 boiled linseed oil, and 1/3 turpentine - all melted together over a heat source and allowed to cool into a paste, providing the attractive nongloss war-issue type finish. The goal is to have this stock set appear and feel as a military applied finish, and to enhance the value & appeal of your M1 Garand. You will not find a more beautifully finished stock& HG setwith the color & patina so closely matching that of theearlyM1's.
