^^^^Safety note. Never float the bags in your tank. Floating the bags will trap the animals in the bag with the gases their waste gives off during shipping. Adding water during acclimation will equalize the temperature. Floating the bag is unnecessary and may damage the livestock inside. Always acclimate in an open container.,
**HELPFUL HINTS**(1) Corals stink. Transporting them in a box across the country will concentrate the odor. Do not mistake the odor for a fatality, the smell is normal and no animal should be killed for being a little stinky. Always acclimate any coral unless their does not appear to be anything but slime in the bag.(2) Soft corals will dissolve when they die so if their is any polyp visible the coral is likely still alive. All corals polyps will retract when shipped. This is normal. The coral will extend its polyps when it feels comfortable in its new environment.(3) Mushroom corals often cloud the water and may split during shipping or slide from their mounting plug. This is unavoidable but easy to fix. Simply place them in a dish of water with rubble or small shells on the bottom and let mother nature do the rest. After a few days the coral should have grabbed bits of shell or gravel. Glue the gravel to the coral plug with gel superglue. Allow to dry a few minutes before returning to the tank.(4) Waving or pulsing polyps often break up during shipping. This is one of the ways the animals reproduce and is not indicative of damage or ill health. Placing the coral pieces in a small dish filled with gravel or small pieces of rock will allow them to reattach so they can be glued back down. While the new pieces attach, the broken stalks will grow new heads so you end up with twice as many corals.
