They will grow in low light and high light tanks.They provide an excellent place for fry and shrimp to cover themselves as the Frogbit root systems grow to hang down several inches into the water. The Java Moss will provide food and shelter for fry and shrimp.Roots of Frogbit plants vary in length but if left alone will grow to a couple of inches. Frogbit is a floating plant.
Java Moss can be tied down to wood or stone and it will adhere eventually to the item. Or you can let the Java Moss roam free and it will float just above the ground level of the tank.Very pleasing to look at in the tank and they absorb nitrates which make your tank a very healthy place for your fish.The scientific name of Frogbit is limnobium laevigatum.
The scientific name of Java Moss is taxiphyllum barbieri.Both plants will grow between 65 - 86 degrees and PH ranges from 6.0 to 8+.
