ABOUT US
I am Kristen, owner of San Antonio Betta.  I started San Antonio Betta after importing bettas for myself and adding a few extras  to recoup costs.  From there it expanded into importing hundreds of bettas and shipping them out to their new homes.  I am a small, home based business much smaller than a lot of the other sellers on .  However, I love that this gives me extra time to ensure bettas are getting the best care possible. 

SHIPPING
I am currently only shipping Mondays and Tuesdays until USPS returns to normal.  They are still experiencing some delays.  Fish are packaged in an insulated box with a heat pack (if necessary).  USPS Priority typically takes 2-3 days.  Overnight is an option, please contact me for pricing.  I do my best to get fish out ASAP, however there are times if you order on Mon or Tues, your fish may have eaten.  All bettas need a minimum of 24 hrs to fast prior to shipping.  Sometimes this may push you into the next week\'s shipment. 

PHOTOS AND LIGHTING
All photos are of the exact fish you will be receiving and are taken by me.  I use a bright white LED light during photos so if you have red or blue in your lighting it may change how the betta looks. 

MARBLE AND KOI BETTAS
These guys can and often do change color during transit and over time.  Please be aware that color changes do often happen.  I will not be responsible for any marbling or color changes during transit. 

HALFMOONS, FEATHERTAILS, AND ROSETAILS
Unfortunately these tail types are notorious fin nippers especially when under stress (shipping).  While I will not send out a fin nipped betta, I cannot be responsible for any fin nipping during transit.  Please be aware you assume this risk when you buy one of these tail types. 

FEMALES
I cannot take females back if they do not get along in your sorority.  Please have back up tanks/options available in case it does not work out.  If anyone has questions about getting a sorority started, feel free to send me a message. 

FEEDING
I feed mostly live blackworms and frozen bloodworms and brine shrimp. These are typically easier for bettas to digest and less likely to lead to bloating. For some this is not a feasible option so I recommend a high quality pellet like fluval bug bites, northfin betta bits, or new life spectrum.

DOA POLICY
Live arrival guaranteed within 1 hour of delivery time.  If you open the box and discover a DOA, you must send photos of the fish in the unopened shipping bag within 1 hour of delivery.  I will refund the cost of the fish excluding shipping costs. Shipping fees are non-refundable.

I believe communication between seller and buyer is the key to avoiding misunderstandings.  I understand that things do happen that are outside both of our control.  If you acclimate your new betta and something seems off, that would be a great opportunity to send me a message letting me know what is going on.  I enjoy hearing positive news too! 

By purchasing a betta, you are agreeing to all policies above.  All purchases are final.  Please do not purchase if you are not 100% sure this is the betta for you.
