This sale is for an Icom DC cord that is an optional method of powering the IC-R8500 wideband receiver. The cord will also work with the IC-R9000 and perhaps other Icom receivers such as the IC-R71A and the IC-R7000 if they have input jacks to accommodate this molex connector. The DC cord is fused for protection of the equipment and this is a factory cord that is in excellent condition.

The nice thing about operating the unit off of DC current is that you avoid a lot of the heat buildup with the internal power supply....thus lengthening the lifespan of the components. In addition, DC current is typically quieter as it does not introduce noise into the receiver that often is present with AC current. This is most important for weak signal listening.
