This s a Howes CR-5 Crystal Radio Set. It is brand new andunused. It I really quite nice. Theroller inductor idea using easily obtained parts is just pretty neat. I boughtit to take a live look at it. When I got this not long ago it was advertised asfollows: “This may be the last of the (262) CR-5 Crystal Radio Sets that I havebuilt and sold on . I’m out of22-gauge wire and not sure if I want to order another spool of wire. I think that I\'m getting lazzy. The crystal set is built of quality materialsand each diode is tested for maximum performance before being used. Most 1N34A diodes do not make it that I testfor these radio sets. To operate thisset, all one needs is a good antenna, ground connection and pair of 2000 ohm orbetter headphones. If desired, one coulduse a small speaker amp.
