Hopalong Cassidy Vintage Metal Western Toy Figure from France.Offered is one (1) vintage metal figure of Hopalong Cassidy thatI acquired from a collector inFrance.The figure is unpainted and was sold in kit form along with paints,brushes and instructions.( Votre jouet de l’etoile de cinemapour peindre ). Titled as : PaintYour Own Movie Star Toy Figure.Although similar to the EnglishTimpo figure there are definitedifferences.1st this figure seems to be solid cast. 2nd the stand is much larger.3rd the detailing is much more defined and sharper even foran older toy that has been around for at least 60 years.This figure is still quite clearlymarked ENGLAND on his back.Obviously the French jobberwho produced the kit was nottrying to hide the fact of the toy’s origin. Perhaps there wassome sort of agreement betweenTimpo it’s creator and the Frenchmanufacturer. Supposed to havebeen produced in the late 1950’s. Hopalong stands ( 2 3/8” inchestall by approximately 1” wide ).The figure has light wear withslight corrosion. I would rate itas very good to fine shape.Certainly a not often seen toyin this form. This is a previouslyowned and used vintage figure.PLEASE NOTE the label which appears at the beginning ofthis listing of Hoppy with fanswas not part of the kit.
