For more information see Hermann Schmidt,s website model VO-1-1/2s consists of a one-piece base and stationary jaw, and a moveable jaw with quick acting, ratchet screw. Body and Jaw are made from 420 Stainless Steel. The screw pulls the moveable jaw forward and down at approximately 45º to eliminate lifting of the jaw when clamping small or thin work pieces. Two counterbored holes are provided in both stationary and moveable jaw for mounting parallels or \"V\" shaped pads. The base, also, has four counter bored holes allowing the vise to be mounted on a variety of machines.
