**SORRY, WE DO NOT SHIP OUTSIDE OF THE USA.**** PHOTO IS OF OUR MAIN CULTURE WHICH YOUR STARTER CAME FROM**
** YOUR STARTER MAY ARRIVE WITH LITTLE TO NO WORMS. EGGS ARE IN THE SOIL. **OUR WORMS SHIP OUT MON and WED ONLY
(if you order on Monday your order will ship Wed. anything received after that day will be rounded up and shipped in the following Monday order. we want to prevent the possibility of our live cultures getting stranded in the post office on Sun.)Grindal worms (Enchytraeus buchholzi) are a small white non-parasitic worm that lives in soils around the world. They are similar to White worms that are commonly used by other aquarists as a source of food for their fish. However, these worms are smaller than White worms and their care differs slightly. Grindal worms are a great food source to feed your young fry and adult fish that stay under a couple of inches. This species was discovered by Mrs.Morten Grindal of Sweden who was attempting to improve her White worm culture and stumbled upon these small worms by accident.--- You will be getting 2oz condiment sized starter culture. Meaning your worms will be in a 2oz container. Not by weight!-- Easy to culture and keep.- Culture can withstand up to 90°+ and doesn\'t require cold pack. Grindal worms are extremely tolerant to higher temp unlike white worms. - Recommended substrate: Zoo Med compressed coconut fiber. (Due to high pH levels it is not advised to use peat moss or any other soil as the high acidity will most likely kill your culture or introduce mites. Always use compressed soils to prevent mites and other unwanted quests.- Food: High quality dog kibble, cat kibble or fish food. I recommend feeding dog food but it is a personal preference.-Yes, sometimes the cultures smell partly due to what has been fed to them. Our cultures are fed soaked cat food and there is an odor to it, however once you switch them to bigger container and start feeding what you plan to feed them it shouldn\'t be as potent. Cat food tends to always smell more than dog food due to higher protein levels, but our worms love kitty kibble. Please give your culture 12 days to 1 week as culture MAY appear dead (MAY CONTAIN LITTLE TO NO WORMS) but there are eggs in the soil. add a small amount of food to your bigger container and you should see some results. It may take up to a month to get a culture large enough to feed your fry and fish. Our culture is extremely healthy with zero mites!
