General Notes (please read)
Production: I buy the materials locally
and mix and cast the items manually, after the item has set, which takes a
minimum of 24 hours, a drying period is needed which is a further minimum of 24
hours (longer in the Winter). Each item is coloured by hand and, after another
drying period, finished as necessary being ready for dispatch 12 hours later.
Quality: I make all the items and I
think they are lovely; I don’t dispatch any item that I would not be happy
with. They are made to display in your garden but I have customers who display
them in the house, some in window boxes and flowerpots, and some as indoor
ornaments.Remember, they are not made
by machine and therefore every piece is slightly different and consequently
none are what you might call perfect but I think this adds to their quality not
distract from it.
Colouring: Many factors affect the
final colouring and finish; the weather when casting or drying, drying period,
absorbance, water temperature and even the sand has an impact, but I try to
achieve a consistent result in colour and definition however there are so many
variables which produces lots of variety in the results; as stated previously,
if I am not happy I wouldn’t dispatch. Take a look at a few different items to
get an idea of the variations in finish.
Photographs: All of the pictures are of
finished items I am happy to dispatch; none of them have received any ‘special
attention’ because they were being photographed. The pictures size and
resolution is large enough to show the items ‘warts and all’. The Pound coin is to provide scale and is NOT part of the
sale.
Weights
shown are approximate and unpacked, in grams (1000 grams = 1 Kilo or 2.2 lbs).
Dimensions are Length x Width x Height incentimetres.
Returns: Simple, if you don’t like
it for any reason – send it back (at your cost) for a full refund.
I
pack everything as well as I can with plenty of material to cushion and help
protect from heavy handling but if it arrives broken (it could happen on rare
occasions) please email me photos so I can claim from the carrier and I will
send a replacement as soon as possible.
