German-French clock with chime For Sale -

This is a relatively large (taller than 1ft) German clock (manufacture date unkown, probably midcentury or earlier) modelled on an original French baroque-style clock from between the 1730s-1780s. It chimes for every hour (the number of hours +1), and every half-hour chimes once as well. It requires care in being wound and its pendulum cannot be attached while being moved or the movement will be tarnished. It must be wound at least once a week, if not more, or it will fall behind. Both keys, for winding the clock and the chime, will come with it. Handle with care.
