An original, vintage 9.25" x 6.5" photograph of St. John, Newfoundland taken by Gertrude Kasebier in 1912. Made while visiting the family of John Murray Anderson. Of her experience in Newfoundland, the photographer wrote: "I began to get my bearings and tried photographing without sunlight. The weirdness of it all seemed like a strange setting. The quality of the light and the coloring of the landscape in consequence was different from anything which I had ever seen in nature."
