Franklin Mint Chess Set of The Gods For Sale - New and Used

This chess set is one that you just won't find very often. It is themed after the Greek mythological Gods. The pieces are made out of what we believe is either porcelain or pottery, we are not sure. Each piece is accentes with 24 karat gold paint, as well as the around the border and throughout the marble playing board. The medallions on all four sides of the wooden storage box is also accented with 24 karat gold paint. Each of the playing pieces are all named on the bottoms as well as the mark 88 TM. All the black pawns are eagles and the white pawns are griffins. Now for a couple minor issues; The white Hermeshas a (staff?)that is completely loose, but is complete, it just needs reapplied. Next; the white Zues has the very tip of his spear broken off and missing. We also have a black ( staff?)that is complete, but we are not sure which piece is missing it. The last 3 pictures show these minor issues. These couple of minor issues are all that we can identify. The wooden box is free of splits or breaks, as well as the gold accents on all 4 sides.We do not have any of the paperwork or books for the set.

As mentioned the playing surface is marble and makes this set VERY heavy. The shipping costs will probably be a little high due to the weight. We can not control these costs. If by chanceyou over pay for shipping compared to the actual cost, we will reimburse the overpayment. We do not make anything on shipping, we actually lose money because charges us a final value fee on shipping costs. We do not charge anything extra to cover these costs.
