Exceptional Mahogany Tall Case Clock For Sale -

Up for sale this week we have a beautiful early English Mahogany Tall Case Clock in wonderful condition.  This clock was made and the dial signed by William James Ashall born in Billinge Lancashire, England on May 19th 1811.   I believe this clock was made right around 1840-50 or so.  This is a big clock case measuring 96".  The Both the Moon dial and large dial are decorated in a farm house motif.

This clock is in excellent working order and keeps perfect time.

The Veneer design on this case is stunning and has a wonderful warm color and patina on what looks like either the original surface or a very old one.  The outside of the case is exquisitely decorated with a crotch Mahogany veneer trimmed with decorative inlay banding throughout. There is the usual age cracks and distress marks throughout the case as one would expect with a clock of this age, but overall it is in very good solid condition with no veneers, parts, or inlays missing.

There is a slight warp to the top left side of the door and the inside of the door has bed chamfered at some point in its life to keep the door from warping any further, but the door closes fine and the lock works great.

The dial hands, pendulum, and weights look original and of the period and the all Brass gear mechanism is in great condition and is being cleaned and oiled this week.
