The dog tag is essentially two pieces of aluminum (NOT plastic), permanently bonded together, and coated with white. So the tags are white when they are blank... which allows for very vibrant color pictures. It is light weight, and you would be able to bend it if you tried (although with regular use, when not subjected to undue pressure they will not bend).
