DAYAK PARANG ILANG (MANDAU) BORNEO SWORD - Parang ilang or mandau (which means double knife because it has 2 blades; the main sword and a small knife fitted in the back of the sheath.)
- the sword is in beautiful condition- used by the Dayaks who live in Borneo- overall length is approximately 20 3/8 inches- the blade is approximately 12 1/4 inches long, and is nicely finished- the small knife carried in the sheath is approximately 12 3.4 inches long and its blade is approximately 3 inches long- the scabbard is made of native hardwood, is ornately carved and wrapped, and is decorated with bone on each end, top and bottom- the handle is ornately carved and has animal hair affixed to it. it is wrapped with braided material
