Ciocc Road Racing Bicycle:
$1499.00

This 1984 vintage Ciocc "Designer 84" road bicycle is a collector's item in very good condition. It is a classic Italian road machine with red paint and nickel-plated "smoke chrome" fork, seat, and chain stays. Hand-crafted in Italy, the frame is made of Columbus SLX seamless cold drawn, double butted tubing, with Campagnolo drop outs and beautiful investment-cast lugs, bottom bracket, and fork crown. The original paint is generally in good condition, but shows some normal wear & tear. This bicycle was ridden for about a decade, and then kept in clean, climate-controlled storage since 1994. It has been well maintained and kept meticulously clean all along. The 16 year old tires and tubes still hold air, but need to be replaced. Otherwise, this bike is ready to ride.SPECIFICATIONS: Weight is about 22 pounds, including the clincher rims. Measurements are 61cm (24”) Seat Tube (top to center), 59cm (23-1/4”) Top Tube (center to center). Stand-over height from ground to top of top tube is 84cm (33”). Campagnolo Super Record equipment throughout (except hubs, but the originals may be substituted, as noted below). Wheels include Mavic hard-anodized clincher rims, with stainless steel eyelets, stainless steel double-butted spokes, and Phil Wood sealed-bearing hubs. (The original Cmpagnolo hubs may be substituted, which are laced to Campagnolo Omega rims.) Turbo leather saddle; Look "Arc" pedals (cleats included, fair condition); Cinelli Giro D'Italia Handlebars; 1994 handlebar-mounted Vetta C10 trip computer (needs battery, but it worked perfectly in 1994).The frame was designed by the "frame maestro" of Ciocc, Italian road racing legend Giovanni Pelizzoli. Ciocc was his nickname (local dialect for "poker faced" thus the Ciocc badge of four aces in a cross formation). This is a classic Italian road racing bicycle, with the rock-solid feel and quick handling of a rigid steel frame. It is a perfect example of 1980s state-of-the-art bicycle technology, and a joy to ride. More photos are available on request.
