We arepleased to offer our latest solution, theChuxaway SCX, which builds on the success ofthe Chuxaway SC and is now even easier to installand requiresfewer batteries - just 3 x AAbatteries, (installed within the Timer Control Unit). All sensor functionality is contained withinthe Chuxaway SCX motor unit. The unit requiresno calibration. Installationis simple, and electrical connections are limited to connecting two wires toconnect the Motor unit to the Timer Control Unit, (using screw terminals).All mounting screws and cable clips provided, and 2 spare cords are also provided.

The Chuxaway SCX utilises anIntegral Timerso that you are in control of when the door opens and closes. Inour opinion this control is more desirable than light sensing models -essential for those weekend lie-ins and perhaps as a courtesy to neighbours!The timer enables upto 6 programmed door open and door close sequencesusing a 7 day timer, though it is anticipated that most people will choose asingle programme to open at a particular time in the morning and close at a settime in the evening. These times are fully configurable by the user towithin 1 minute. It is possible to have the door open/close at different timeson different days of the week if you want to. It is very easy to changethe times as the daylight hours change through the season;(a process thattakes just a few seconds).

The unit features aManual Overrideso that you can openand close the door on the control unit by pushing a button; (this is an extracost option with some other kits).

The design ensures longevity of batterylife andutilises a motorised liftand gravity close approach. This is a DIY installation. The kit includes fullstep-by-step instructions (in English), and all fixings. Only basic DIYequipment such as screwdrivers are required).

Note that the Chuxaway SCX motor unitneeds to be mounted such that the rising door makes contact with the sensorintegrated on the underside of the motor unit when fully open. (90mmspace required above door to accommodate the motor unit).

This listing includes afull Door Conversion Kitcomplete with timber runners, lower stop, screws, and light aluminium door. TheAluminium Doormeasures approximately 300mm high by 220mm wide. The width including side runners is approximately 300mm. This width has been specified as it typically complements most chicken coops. (The side runners incorporate a slot within which the door slides).

The motor is contained within aweatherproof case, and can be mounted remote from the control unit. The controlunit should be mounted under-cover, (i.e. protected from the rain). If yourchicken run does not have a roof, then you should afford consideration to aweather-proof cover or enclosure, or if you have good access you could mountthe control unit inside the chicken house itself.
