This knife for sale is a super rare 1994 issue Case Classic Stag Transition 53083 Split Backspring Whittler, 3 1/2\" closed, with Genuine Stag (deer stag) scales and nickel silver bolsters.

This Case Classic Stag Transition 53083 was issued in a quantity of 7 pieces in 1994 and features the pinned nickel silver Case Bomb shield and the W.R. Case & Sons Bradford, PA stamped Coping blade, which is different from the standard production model.

THIS KNIFE IS DOCUMENTED IN THE CASE CLASSICS \"BEST IN THE LONG HAUL\" BOOK AND SHOWN ON PAGE 117. IT IS #117 G IN THAT BOOK.

The master Clip blade is stamped on the front tang with Case Bradford, PA 19 USA 94, while the rear tang of this blade is pattern stamped with Tested XX 53083. The small Spear blade is stamped with an encircled Case XX Tested and the Coping blade is stamped with W.R. Case & Sons Bradford, PA.
