Q: Would this fit in a small pickup?

A: Measure the distance between the wheel wells and if they are 48 inches apart the canopy will fit. We designed the canopy at 48 inches so it would fit most trucks.

Q: Can the sides be rolled up so dog can stick their heads over the side?

A: Yes. the sides can be rolled up and Velcroed to the tubes

Q: Can this canopy withstand highway speeds? Also, is there rain protection on the sides, or just the top?

A: Yep on the highway speeds - we took it 1600 mi from CA to east TX in February with no problems. As far as the rain goes though, the sides ARE open so your pooch is probably going to get wet in a shower or storm

Q: Can you hook the dog in without having to climb in the truck?

A: You\'ll probably need to climb into the truck bed in order to secure the dog. Note that this canopy does not come with the tether shown in the center of the bed/canopy - you need to purchase this piece separately.

Q: How is the dog secured so it doesn\'t \"get out\"?

A: There is a tether with a leash that connects to the cargo hold down mounts. If you zoom in on the pitcher you can see the leash in the center of the pad and the tether stretched along the back of the truck bed.
