SIAMESE TWIN JONES & SIAMESE TWIN JONES

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The twin sons of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Jones were born in Prairie Township, Tipton County, Indiana, on June 24, 1889. Mrs. Jones was only 19 years old and already had a two-year-old daughter, seen here in this cabinet card. Ischiopagus tetrapus twins, the brothers were delivered vaginally after a labor of only two hours and weighed 12 pounds at birth. Their genitals were positioned on the "posterior" side of their shared body. Their promotional material stated that the twins "differed in complexion and color of the eyes and hair". Although they lived for almost two years and were on exhibition for all of their short lives, the brothers were never named - death certificates confirm that "Siamese Twin Jones" and "Siamese Twin Jones" died on February 19-20, 1891. The family was staying at St. John's Hotel in Buffalo, New York, on a carnival engagement at the time.
