Coin holder for \"Old\" British Money

Pre-metrification 1971

Holds five (5) coins: 2/- (two shillings or a florin or a \"two-bob bit\"); 2/6 (two shillings, six pence or half a crown); -/3 (three pence or thruppence); 1/- (one pence) and -/6 (six pence or a \"tanner\".)

About 2.75 x 2.25 inches and about .5 inches high.

The back of holder is a wavy repeating line pattern, there is a small slotted screw (discolored) near the center. The front of the holder is covered with a faux wood grain film, which is chipped in three places. The placeholders for the coins have the denomination as noted above along with wavy lines in kind of a flower-like pattern.

There is wear commensurate with usage, notablyscratches on two sides, the bottom and coin \"placeholders.\"

No manufacturer or date on holder. We do know the provenance of this item and suspect that it may date to the early 1930s when the family visited England.

Silver colored metal, looks like stainless steel but may be polished chrome over copper or brass as there seems to be a reddish tint beneath the scratches on the back.)
