Boehm Porcelain RARE "SNOWY OWL" Russian Exhibition 1987:
$5000.00

In 1987 there was “THE AMERICAN BOEHM PORCELAIN EXHIBITION” in Moscow, U.S.S.R. At that exhibition, there were 9 sculptures bearing the hallmark “To commemorate the Boehm Porcelain Exhibition, Moscow, U.S.S.R., May 17-June 27, 1987. One of those nine sculptures given that hallmark was the gorgeous “SNOWY OWL. There was a photo published of Mrs. Boehm gifting the “SNOWY OWL” to Mikhail Gorbachev. I believe Mr. Gorbachev then donated it to either the Hermitage or one of Russia’s top art museums. This is a masterful, limited edition work of art requiring a huge number of molds in its creation. What is up for offer is number 281 of this rare and unique piece of art. It is not small-measuring 14 inches from wingtip to wingtip, 15 inches wide, 19 inches tall and approx. 9 inches thick. It weighs a little over 6 pounds. The incredible detail, including its piercing eyes make this a truly captivating work of art.
