Description

For sale is a beautiful and solid Oak Sewing Box and its contents. The Oak Sewing box was clearly made with great craftsmanship. The whole piece is put together expertly with the corners showing beautiful dovetailing. Inside the sewing box there is a lift out tray that is divided into 4 parts, two long narrow sections and two smaller sections. There is a little damage to this box. Firstly the dovetailing is coming apart slightly on the front right corner, though this is not noticeable when the lid is closed. The box is a little scratched on the lid. However, this will be easy to work out with a deep polish.

Included with this sewing box are 27 spools of 1930s, 40s, and 50s threads. These threads are really beautiful in colour and the quality is second to none. Six of these are spools of J & p Coats threads from the 1930s to the 60s, these include Extra quality Black, Machine quality Navy Blue, 6 Cord white, Dark Purple (this one is beautiful). There are also other spools from Clark & Co and Dewhurst's Sylko thread.

There are 21 other spools of thread in a range of beautiful colours that are often hard to find in today's modern haberdashery. Some of these have never been used and the rest of the spools have only been used one or twice. Also included are sewing needles, pins, a nappy pin, and some kniting needles.
