Rare Baroque Bracket Clock with Tortoise, Upper Italy, c. 1730This rare bracket clock was built in Upper Italy around the year of 1830. The clock has an Italian six-hour strike on two bells and features a repeater, alarm, mute setting and a verge escapement. The finely engraved and gilt clock face as well as the tortoise shell veneer on oak casing with bronze appliques are very beautiful. The pendulum is fitted with a spring suspension and the hands are made of blue tempered steel. The fact that this clock is a highly rare piece has to be emphasized.
The baroque clock is in very good condition with only small traces of age and use. It comes with key windings. The measurements of the casing are 60 x 45 x 21 cm (height x width x depth). The clock worked during a short-time test; long term precision and regularity cannot be guaranteed.
