A superb example of an Ancient Persian battle spear, dating to theLateNear EasternBronze Age,approximately 1200 - 800B.C.

The weaponis of elongated, cylindricalform, with prominent central mid rib and extremely long, hollowtang, designed for insertion into a wooden pole in antiquity, now long since perished.

Thisweapon would have originally formed part of the burial contents of a wealthyPersian Warrior. The Bronze Age Peoples of Ancient Persia were a warrior-society who were expert metal-workers. GenuinePersian weapons such as this are some of the best value pieces on today's art market.

Condition: Excellent, a fine example with fantastic malachite patina. Unrestored.
