Set of Marines AV-8B HARRIER Photos

Sixty different, excellent condition, 1979 original color photographs of a Marines AV-8B HARRIER V/STOL in planning and production.

I am selling all of these photos as one lot. There are about 60 of them. They are all color 8x10s except for 5 black and white 8 x 10s. The black and white ones are a little fuzzy because I believe they were shot in flight with high speed film. (They are in focus but a little grainy and fuzzy) All of the photos are different and I don't have any duplicates. These are the only production photos I have. I believe these to be unique, one of a kind photographs.

The photos are very interesting and show things such as cockpit closeup, paint design, wind tunnel tests, models, etc.

I also have a set of Harrier "crash" photos that I am selling in a different sale.

I bought all of these photos together at an sale. I think these were all owned by the McDonnell Douglas photographer. These photos may be the only ones in existence. (As are the "crash" photos in the other sale).

I believe this was a prototype or test Harrier assembled and re-designed by McDonnell Douglas, based on the Hawker Siddeley Harrier built by British Aerospace. The modifications included a new wing, an improved cockpit and instruments, and more sophisticated navigation/attack systems.

I don't know much about the history of the AV-8B and I haven't been able to find any photos of the Harrier with this paint configuration or this exact design. I think these photos are relatively scarce and difficult to find.
