This bike combines everything that you'd want in a race bike like the Tarmac and then adds an aero benefit that's been proven to take seconds off of your ride and add watts to your efforts. A great deal of research and innovation has gone into this latest generation of the ViAS - hidden cables, calipers tucked away out of the wind, and a uniquely shaped stem/bar to fool those pesky headwinds. The frame shape looks fast just sitting there, but every single angle and curve was strategically placed in order to control the passing wind. The trick is to control it - to keep from getting "dirty" or causing drag and resistance. Specialized has made very good use of their very own wind tunnel.

The carbon is Specialized's best, most competitive carbon out there - FACT 11r. This has been Peter Sagan's bike of choice for this year's Tour de France. Also included is the Quarq powermeter, integrated in with the S-Works Carbon crankset. A tool used to measure your efforts that retails separately for $999 just for the spider alone!
