Very elegant art deco large round Barolac glass bowl, made in Czechoslovakia in the 1930s by Joseph Inwald Barolac. Bought from Paris in the 1970s. Obviously, Inwald work is akin to Rene Lalique art deco/1930s designs and is often mistake as Lalique. Good overall condition. The glass is heavy & opalescent/frosted. Striking relief design of swimming mermaids - each of the 4 beautifulmermaids are in different positions with their hair swirling. The top rim has small water lilies around the rim. The 4 small feeton the base have a swirl of leaves coming from each, underneath. I believe the pattern number is \'11105\'. Ideal striking centre piece bowl.
