Rare and exceptionally beautiful, original ca1905 Terre Haute Brewing Company (Indianapolis, Indiana), Pre-Prohibition, Tin Lithographed Advertising Serving Tray.

This wonderful, Tin Litho Beer Tray is oval in shape and measures 12.5" by 15.25". It features an image of a Federal Period dinner party, with cupid or cherub figures flying above the table, pouring beer into the glasses of the party-goers below. Text on the tray reads "That /Ever Welcome / Beer / Terre Haute Brewing Co. / Terre Haute, Ind.". Text around the rim of the tray reads "Champagne Velvet Radium". The tray does not carry the mark of the manufacturer, but it is documented to have been manufactured by Charles W. Shonk Co. of Chicago. The Chromolithography is of the very highest quality as would be expected from the outstanding craftsmen employed by this premier maker of tin lithographed advertising items.

This very beautiful, ca1905 Terre Haute Brewing Company Advertising Tray is not a reproduction, reissue or restrike but is an original ca1905 Serving Tray manufactured by Chas. W. Shonk for the Terre Haute Brewing Company to advertise their Champagne Velvet Radium Beer.

This beautiful and quite rare, Pre-Prohibition Tin Lithograph Stroh’s Bohemian Beer Advertising Tray is in very good condition and displays nicely. The Chromolithography is bright and bold - rich and warm and very attractive. There are 2 small factory holes in the top center of the tray, which were meant to be used to mount the tray on a wall as an advertising sign. There are a few scuffs and scratches around the outer rim of the tray, and some very small blemishes and scratches to the central image area. There is also a small reverse dimple in the upper right hand quadrant of the tray. Overall, however, this wonderful Pre-Pro Beer Tray is well preserved and displays beautifully. Please see the scans below for a good indication of the condition of this great Tray!!
