description = [1895 N300 Mayo's Cut Plug Buck Ewing HOF Cleveland On Shirt SGC Authentic. Cards from the N300 Mayo set are incredibly tough to find, and are nearly impossible to find in a high grade. There are only about 1000 total cards from this set registered with SGC, with only a handful graded highly. Produced by P.H. Mayo & Brother of Richmond, Virginia, these cards were sparsely distributed in tins of chewing tobacco over 115 years ago. As an increasingly popular set, the demand throughout the hobby is at an all-time high, with no slowdown in sight. This example of Ewing, which happens to be his most desired card amongst collectors, would have graded out much higher if it wasnt for the back being "skinned". Buck Ewing was an American Major League Baseball player and manager, and is widely regarded as the best catcher of his era, and is often considered as one of the best players of the 19th century. Ewing joined the National League in 1880 as a member of the Troy Trojans, but rose to stardom in 1883 as a member of the New York Gothams, later known as the Giants. That year he became the first player in major league history to hit 10 home runs in a season (a feat he would never repeat), while batting .303. Playing in an era when triples were more common than home runs due to the spacious parks and poor quality of the balls used, he led the league in 1884 with 20 triples, and was often among the league leaders. Primarily a catcher, Ewing was versatile enough to play all nine positions, which he did, and fast enough to steal 354 bases. He hit .300 in ten different seasons, and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1939. Don't miss out on a chance to own a rare piece of baseball history!

About Just Collect, Inc.
Just Collect, Inc. was founded in 2005. Leighton Sheldon, with a background in every
area of the vintage sports card hobby, noted that private sale houses would receive large consignments of cards from collectors, investors, and dealers. Rather than sale those cards
individually, the sale houses often offered them in large groups which would be purchased by smaller dealers intent on breaking up the collection on for a profit. Just Collect was
created with the the business model of offering these collectors, investors, and dealers a comprehensive, professional consignment service which maximized the value of their collection
and returned a higher bottom line payout to the seller than any private sale houses. Scott Greenwald, with a background in operations and IT and a college roommate of Leighton's, seized the opportunity to work
with him to develop a new platform to sell collectibles efficiently and with total transparency and communication with both the
consignors and buyers. Just Collect offers consignment services across all collectible disciplines, and we welcome the opportunity to discuss your collection with
you. Please call our office at (732) 828-2261.
