This listing is for1 ounce of decapsulated brine shrimp (Artemia) eggs. These eggs will be shipped in a flat zip lock type bag.

Non hatching decapsulated eggs are fed directly, without thenecessity and downtime of hatching. Decapsulated eggs have a higher energy andnutritional value than live brine shrimp nauplii. Since these eggs arenon-hatching, no energy is consumed in the hatching process and lipids, aminoacids, and enzymes are left intact. Simply rehydrate the decapsulated brineshrimp eggs for a few minutes in fresh water and feed directly to your babyfish or reef tank. (A little bit of these goes a long way).

DecapsulatedArtemia cysts are made from brine shrimp eggs that have not broken diapause andwill never hatch. The decapsulation procedure consists of chemically removingor oxidizing the outer chorion with a hypochloride solution. All that remainsfollowing decapsulation is the bright orange embryo surrounded by a thinhatching membrane. The decapsulated cysts are neutralized and are completelydigestible buy the fish or shrimp larvae. Feed the decapsulated Artemia cysts directly to the larviculture tanks. Do notincubate as with hatching cysts as these cysts will not hatch. As a feedsource, decapsulated cysts have a higher energy and nutritional value than liveArtemia nauplii as zero energy is consumed in the hatching process and lipids,amino acids, and enzymes are left intact.
