The \"Amplex Type A\" crystalwireless set radio receiver, dating to 1923 and manufactured by the Collins and John company.A excellent example of the variety of design found in such simple early domestic wireless broadcast radioreceivers.
Polished mahoganycabinet,with brass carrying handle, measures approx.7 x 6 x8inches.Brass fittings,variometertype tuning. Crystal to crystal (Perikon) detector - this type is less common than the cat\'s whisker / galena type. Very good condition, but cabinet has some shrinkage along the grain due to natural aging effects. Please see photos.
Looksto becomplete, but itis untested and is therefore sold as a \"collector\'s display item\".
