I, Judy Caseley, am the proud owner of my shih tzu, Miss Chief who has had the honor of becoming the Pet of the Week at Pet Peoples Place during the first week of her visit here. We live on Chokoloskee Island in Florida. I conduct private boat tours in the Everglades National Park for photography, birdwatching, eco tours, fishing, and more. Previously I was a teacher and Miss Chief would visit the students on Friday as a reward for students earning their reading points. They loved all her pretty outfits and learned not only the love of learning but the proper care of pet ownership. Inspired by this unusual educational experience, Noreen Hyde wrote a children's book, "The Adventures of Miss Chief ... Miss Chief Goes to School" illustrated by Marrisa Pushee, a high school student at the time. We are both proud to be a part of Pet Peoples Places.
