How do I submit a listing to the Pet Directory?

How much does it cost and what are the benefits?
Basic listings and shelter organizations are free. For up to date information
please visit our Submission Pages.
What response should I expect from listing in your directory?
Obviously the response depends on the category and the ad itself. Most people telephone or email listed businesses while browsing our pages. Thus, true response is difficult to gauge. However, we know for a fact that approaching one million US citizens pass through our site every month - its up to you to decide if you can afford not to be seen!
How do I update my listing?
To update or change your listing please visit out Submission
Pages.
I have submitted a listing but I do not see it included yet. Why not?
Our directory is human-edited and every listing is added by hand. Therefore
it usually takes around 7 days for listings to be published. We do not guarantee
a turnaround time for basic listings, but these are normally included in the
same period.
Do you offer a free trial?
We do not offer a free trial but you can cancel your next payment with ease if you are not satisfied with the response your listing is generating.
Do you accept submissions or payment by post?
Unfortunately this is not possible at this time.
Why have I been billed again for my listing when I did not ask to be?
When you pay for a Recommended Listing, you are signing up for a recurring
annual payment. We cannot stop this payment - you must contact your card
processor if you do not want billing to recur 12 months after your first
payment.
What if I cancel my recurring payment?
If you cancel your recurring payment we will remove your business listing at the
next site update. This is regardless of how many months there are remaining from your
first payment. If you want to pay for one year's subscription only and have 12
months of listing, you should cancel your recurring payment one week before it
is due to recur.
Do I have to be a registered charity to list my shelter organization for
free?
No, but it helps. We will use our own judgment as to what represents a charity or non-profit organization.
What are the requirements of a Basic Listing?
You may submit any number of free basic listings, however we will not list your
email address or website without a return link using one of the permitted means
(see Basic Listing Information). Your link must be
on your homepage and must be in place before you submit your entry.
How do I list my business in more than one state?
For paid submissions, one submission and payment must be made for every state.
Only one full page listing will be provided for all listings in the same
category

What if I want to list my business in lots of states in one category?
Competitive rates are available for volume listings. Please Contact
Us to discuss your requirements.
How do I remove my business from the directory?
To remove your listing please Contact Us. You are responsible for stopping any outstanding recurring payments set
up with your credit card.
Why is there not a "View on Map" link on my listing
page?
Your listing will not contain a link to your location on Google
Local for any of the following reasons:
- You marked your address as hidden when submitting or updating your listing
- You are advertising a breeder (for security purposes)
- You use a PO Box
- Your address can not be found in the Google
Local system.
How do I sign up for the Shelter
Program?

What benefits does the program offer?
Our Pet Rescue and Shelter Program
is a great way to increase publicity for your
organization, and ultimately the pets you want to
rehome. When you sign up with us you'll be given a
full page listing to showcase your organization
(including pictures!) and a coupon to give to anyone
involved with your shelter for 10% off everything in
our store. And that's not all - you'll also benefit
from cash donations from our readers!
Who can use the 10% coupon you supply?
All associates of your shelter and adopters that
you choose to share the coupon code with is eligible
to use the coupon. There is no maximum usage.
Can I get printed coupons to give to friends
of our organization?
Currently we do not provide print coupons.
However, in the very near future we will be
producing glossy "membership card" style
coupons you can hand out to friends and associates.
